This painting extends the investigation of waiting, turning it inward. A seated woman rests on a floor pillow, her body composed yet unguarded, one hand placed behind her as if caught mid-adjustment. Fully dressed, she suggests readiness, yet remains suspended in stillness.
Unlike the threshold in The Geometry of Waiting, this space is intimate and contained. Waiting becomes internal—a quiet moment of negotiation where nothing outward shifts, but something within is in motion. A subtle geometry persists in the balance of her posture and the distribution of weight. She exists at a point of equilibrium, neither fully at rest nor in action.
